Illegal Driving Instructor Prosecuted

The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) in the october 2008 edition of despatch a magazine sent to all ADIs mentioned that in its initiative to deal with the rising number of illegal driving instructors had sucessfully prosecuted a man in Derbyshire for illegally giving driving tuition in exchange for money while not qualified and having his name on the DSA register of approved driving instructors.

With this conviction, the DSA has proved that it is taking the issue of illegal driving instruction very serious, and has currently over 400 cases that is being investigatedd by the DSA's fraud and integrity team.

If you are a learner driver who thinks your driving instructor is operating illegally (this is easy to check since all ADIs should be displaying their registration badge green or pink when giving paid tuition), you should contact the DSA on 02920 581155 or email integrity.team@dsa.gsi.gov.uk
