Petrol Costs are coming down, and for the newly qualified driving instructor this is good news because it means the income you will earn will be slightly higher than a few months ago when petrol prices were over £1.20p per litre.
Considering that I saw a litle of petrol at under 90p at a local sainsbury station, that is a saving of over 30p which will add up to a lot for the driving instructor that covers thousands of miles a month during the course of normal tuition for learner drivers, especially when the big oil producing forecourts also have to reduce their prices to remain competitive.
Not a lot of ADI's would have been able to raise lesson prices during the recent fuel price crisis, so this continual fall in running cost would be a welcome light at the end of a dark tunnel for anyone who might have been struggling with the demands of setting up a new driving school business. Hopefully fuel prices will continue to remain low, and instructors are able to find ways of remaining competitive and still provide quality tuition to learner drivers and attract more paying provisional licence holders wanting driving lessons.
The Joys of being a driving instructor! Not.
